Congratulations on your All-on-X procedure! To ensure optimal healing and the best possible outcome, please carefully follow these post-operative guidelines:
Immediate Post-Operative Care:
- Rest and limit physical activity for the first 24-48 hours.
- Eat only soft, cool foods; avoid hot, spicy, or hard foods.
- Do not disturb the surgical sites; avoid touching or probing with your fingers or tongue.
- Keep your head elevated, especially when lying down, to minimize swelling.
Medications:
- Take prescribed medications as directed, including antibiotics and pain relievers.
- Use any recommended mouth rinses or oral hygiene products as instructed.
- Contact us if you experience severe pain, swelling, or adverse reactions.
Oral Hygiene & Care:
- Maintain good oral hygiene but be gentle around surgical sites.
- Rinse gently with prescribed or saltwater solution 2-3 times daily, starting 24 hours after surgery.
- Do not brush or floss around the surgical areas until advised by your clinician.
Swelling & Discomfort:
- Swelling is normal and may peak 2-3 days post-surgery; use cold packs on the face for 15-minute intervals as needed.
- Mild to moderate discomfort can be expected; if pain persists or worsens, contact us immediately.
Temporary Fixed Denture:
- The temporary denture acts as a healing prosthesis; it may feel loose as swelling subsides.
- Do not attempt to adjust or remove the temporary denture yourself.
- Contact us if the denture becomes significantly loose or uncomfortable.
Follow-Up & Monitoring:
- Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments (e.g., at 2 weeks post-surgery).
- Inform us of any unusual symptoms such as excessive bleeding, persistent pain, fever, or signs of infection.
Important Notes:
- Avoid smoking and alcohol during the healing period to promote proper osseointegration.
- Maintain excellent oral hygiene to prevent infection.
- Do not engage in strenuous activities or heavy lifting for at least a week.
